Meet the Liberty Fabrics Team at The Festival of Quilts 2023

Liberty Fabrics has been at the cutting-edge of design and decorative arts since 1875 – through distinctive prints, unmatchable fabrics, and a commitment to honouring their heritage. The iconic fabrics are painted and drawn by hand by in an in-house team in the heart of London, and printing takes place at their mill in northern Italy, which uses both innovative digital technology and age-old techniques.

Designed with quilting in mind, Liberty Fabrics soft Lasenby cotton base is suitable for a range of creative projects, from luxe bedspreads to coveted cushions. Lasenby is durable and vibrantly coloured with beloved Liberty designs that are tailored to crafting purposes.

It is an exciting time for Liberty Fabrics, and not just because they are proudly sponsoring The Festival of Quilts in 2023. Liberty Fabrics have a range of beautiful new collections both on the horizon and recently released, including the recently launched Heirloom One collection. This collection pays homage to the scenic British countryside, with floral print patterns showcasing the beauty of posies, marguerite daisies, and more – a quilt equivalent of the flowery fields themselves. The patterns can be mixed and matched with designs from Liberty’s classic collections, including but not limited to Emily Belle, Wiltshire Shadow, and Lasenby Silhouette – the latter named after the company’s founder, Victorian designer Sir Arthur Lasenby Liberty.

Another exciting new collection well in time for the festive season is Deck the Halls, the latest Christmas range from Liberty Fabrics. It features Christmas trees, crackers, baubles, and a whole host of seasonal goodies in beautiful, printed patterns, ideal for adding a little sparkle to your home in the cosy spirit of Noel.

The fun continues on site at the Festival of Quilts, where designers from the Liberty Design Studio will be on hand doing live painting on Thursday, Friday and Saturday – reproducing some of the patterns that they make in their studios and maybe even creating some brand-new designs.

Meanwhile, Suzanne Campion will be doing an EPP (English Paper Piecing) demo every day of the Festival, all the way from 3rd through 6th August. And Liberty Fabrics’ Design Manager, Adam Herbert, will be doing a Q&A on the Thursday, ready for you to get all the answers you ever wanted to hear about this iconic company.

Join Liberty Fabrics on stand G10 to meet Liberty Fabrics’ designers, discover their new collections, and have a fascinating chat about all things Liberty. Check out the timetable below for full details of what the Liberty team are up to on site at the NEC, Birmingham from 3-6 August.
