Group Quilts

A single quilt made by more than two makers (including schools and groups of young quilters). Panels entered into this category must be joined together in some way, e.g. joined with tape or sharing a single hanging sleeve to become one quilt (rather than a series of pieces).

Please note all 3D work should be entered into the Quilt Creations category. If you are a School or group of under 18s, please ensure you tick the box on the entry form indicating this.

In all categories the judges will be looking for:

  • Visual impact and the emotional response the quilt evokes
  • The originality and content of the design
  • The composition and use of colour
  • The choice and suitability of materials
  • Surface design and embellishment
  • Construction and accuracy of piecing
  • Design and execution of applique
  • Design and execution of quilting
  • A suitable finish (the edges of the piece) and how well the piece hangs

Credit is given for individuality and innovation in all entries.
