Accessibility at the NEC, Birmingham

We are keen to ensure people of all abilities can access and enjoy The Festival of Quilts.

If you are a blue badge holder, please ensure you bring your badge with you (even if you’re arriving by coach or taxi).

Any visitor who is registered disabled is able to claim a free ticket for a carer to accompany them to the show. Carer tickets can be added at the time of your booking.

A carer ticket accompanying a VIP ticket holder will not receive all of the extra benefits in the VIP package.

NEW for 2023, disabled parking spaces will be offered inside Hall 6, which brings you as close to the Hall 7 show entrance as you can get. There will be plenty of spaces available for blue badge holders.

Please book via the NEC in the normal way using this link and remember that you save £5 by booking in advance.

We have kept the aisle width to 4m in most places, with a minimum of 3m to ensure good accessibility.

If you have a disability, please make yourself known to the Front of House / security staff to give you fast track entry into the show.

Assistance dogs are welcome.

The NEC have a fleet of mobility equipment available to hire on a first come, first serve basis. We therefore recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Please email your enquiry to [email protected] and a member of the NEC team will contact you within three working days (please note they are unable to take telephone bookings).

Wheelchairs are available free of charge for blue badge holders and £5 for all other visitors.

Scooters are available to hire for £15.

We have copies of the floor plan and exhibitor list available in large print. Please ask at the Show Guide sales desks located in the entrances of Halls 7 and 9.

Hearing loops are available on request for all Talks and events taking place in the Festival Theatre.

If you’re attending a workshop, written instructions are provided by the teacher for all classes.

Accessible toilets are available across the venue.
