Join The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles Judges Organiser for The Festival of Quilts, Judi Kirk, guides you through the FOQ competition categories to help you feel confident in selecting the right category for your piece.
It is not possible to give individual guidance about categories, and quilts are too frequently entered into the wrong category, jeopardising their chances of being shortlisted despite the incredible standard of workmanship.
Judi provides lots of tips and insights into what makes a quilt Traditional, Modern, Contemporary, Two Person or any of the other seven categories (and overlay awards), to help you make the right choice and maximise your chances of winning.
If you prefer, you can choose to submit your quilt for display without being judged by entering the Joy of Sharing category. In 2023, this included several potential award winners. Don’t miss out because you are not category confident!
