Kantha Pansy

By Angela Daymond

Angela learnt about Kantha twenty years ago during a City and Guilds course. Since then she’s fallen in love with the simplicity of this technique and the fact that it doesn’t need huge resources and is so very relaxing.

In this video Angela teaches you about how Kantha uses just one stitch, the running stitch, to create lots of different things.

You’ll pick up tips about transferring designs and how to use and blend two threads for extra effect.

This technique is suitable for everyone, even if you have not picked up a needle before. Relax and let your needle work its magic.

You can watch this video as many times as you like, pause and replay so that you can really get to grips with this relaxing, and dare we say, addictive, form of hand stitching.
