SAQA – Opposites Attract
Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to promote the art quilt. SAQA’s vision is that the art quilt is universally respected as a fine art medium, and the organisation’s core values are excellence, innovation, integrity, and inclusion. Over the past 30 years, SAQA has grown into a dynamic and active community of over 4,000 artists, curators, collectors and art professionals located around the world.
SAQA have had an annual exhibition at The Festival of Quilts for over a decade, and this year they present Opposites Attract. The artworks included in this exhibit explores contradictions and affinities: Yin and Yang, the irresistible force versus the immovable object, black and white, and other types of opposites. There are 33 quilts, each of which explores the opposing forces that shape our reality in ways that are both readily apparent as well as hidden.
