'A Little Bird Told Me' - A Bird in a Box Home Project
Upon booking the project you will receive the materials required to build a fantastical 3-D bird. Step by step colour instruction takes you through the steps and you can chat with me if you get stuck along the way!
Create the body from calico on the sewing machine, including the head, beak and feet first before painting and embellishing , choosing from yarns and feathers, duping silk, and cotton prints.
Then comes the assembly – how to attach all your fabrics so your bird takes on a life of its own. I will show you how I use decorative lace and silk to great effect creating wings and plumage.
Good machine sewing skills required for creating the body. Whilst basic materials are supplied you will need to accumulate small amounts of silk/cottons to combine with what you receive in the box and you will need Gutermann textile glue and paint.
