What is The Festival of Quilts Competition?
Each year we present over 800 quilts as part of the competition displays at The Festival of Quilts. The quality and range of the work inspires visitors with quilters from all over the world submitting entries.
The Festival of Quilts competition aims to promote and encourage all aspects of patchwork, quilting and applique to enable quilt-makers at all levels to exhibit their work. There are 14 quilting categories available for you to choose from, including modern quilts, traditional quilts, group quilts, beginner quilts and quilt creations. View the full category list here. New for 2019 we have introduced two new ‘overlay’ categories – ‘Best use of Longarm’ and ‘Hand Quilting’.
Every quilt that is entered into the competition will be displayed at the show and there are substantial cash prizes for the winners. You can find the full prize details here.
How to enter
The standard Entry Fee is £16 (£12 for members of The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles and members of the EQA).
The standard entry fee is payable per entrant, not per quilt – it costs the same regardless of the number of quilts you enter. This fee is non-refundable.
Additional fees may apply if you wish to insure your quilt with us, or if you choose to use a collection point or have your quilt posted back to you.
