You will need for a 12'' block:

Background

  • (4) 2 1/2” squares
  • (4) 2 1/2” x 4 1/2”
  • (8) 1 1/2” x 2 1/2”
  • (8) 1 1/2” x 4 1/2”
  • (1) 4 1/2” square

Medium/Darks

  • (8) 2 1/2” squares

Step 1

Making the Block

Lay out Medium/Dark squares in a pleasing manner.

Step 2

Make Corner Patches. Sew one 2 1/2” Medium/Dark square to 2 1/2” Background

square. Press seam toward Background.

Step 3

Sew 2 1/2” x 4 1/2” to the left side of the patch. Press seam toward Background.

Step 4

Make Side Patches. Sew one 1 1/2” x 2 1/2” Background rectangle to each side of

the Medium/Dark square. Press seams toward Background. Sew one 1 1/2” x

4 1/2” rectangle to each remaining side. Press seams toward the Background.

Step 5

Lay out patches to complete the Block. Sew Rows together and press seams toward

corner patches and center block.

Step 6

Sew Rows together. Press seams toward middle Row.
