About
Known as “The Orange Peel” I’ve always seen this as a Seed! So my quilt is called “Summer Seeds”. I will teach you a “No Curve Piecing” method to stitch this iconic shape, without any bonding product!
Use some of your favourite scraps to make an exciting Seed quilt using my Invisible Machine Applique technique. My quilt is 83” X 95” but we will begin today making 4 blocks.
I will show you how to set up your machine, prepare the templates and stitch the blocks.
We will also discuss various layouts and colourways to make your quilt as special as possible.
Available until 31 December 2021.
You will learn:
- How to prepare your machine for the technique
- Choosing the appropriate needles and threads
- How to turn your seam allowances

About the tutor
Dawn has been a quiltmaker since the 1970’s but in the 1980’s she was challenged by her Belgian students to teach them a way to “hand applique on the sewing machine”! Using no bonding products, any multi stitch sewing machine and easily sourced products, Dawn created Invisible Machine Applique. Once learned you will invisibly applique any shape, bias stem, curve or even mitre your borders! Dawn’s written two books on the technique and has taught it all over the world. Dawn is known for educating on the use of appropriate threads and needles for the very best results.
