A Textile Tour of India

By Wendy Gardiner

Join Wendy, as she takes you on an atmospheric textile tour of India.

During the 16-day tour she travelled to 9 locations using 10 modes of transport. She saw camels, elephants, stray dogs and even monkeys on the streets, vying for space with cars, tuk tuks, taxis and buses.

She visited colourful shops and markets packed with fabrics, and trims as well as visiting and experiencing block printing and screen-printing factories, a paper making factory, marble inlay workshop and pottery.

Of course, the tour also took in well-known sights that are ‘must see’ in India.

Share Wendy’s journey into this fascinating country where colour, noise and creativity co-exist and indeed explode!
