Improv Quilt-As-You-Go

By Sarah Ashford

About

In this workshop you will learn this improvised ‘quilt as you go’ technique with the possibility of making a cushion.  There’s lots of freedom to have fun with fabric in this class; there’s only a little bit of measuring required, but we do it as we go along and having lots of scraps to hand is really important – it’s a really liberating technique and you will be on your way to having a striking cushion panel by the end of it!

NB: This class does not include details of how to make the full cushion, just the 16 1/2” cushion front to fit a 16” cushion pad

Available until 31 December 2021.

You will learn:

  1. The Quilt-As-You-Go Technique
  2. Top tips for machine quilting
  3. How to balance pattern and colours
  4. How to work in an improvised way
  5. How to have fun with scraps
