1. What are the show opening hours?

The Show is open from 10th - 13th August 2017. Opening hours are as follows:
Thursday - 10:00am - 5:30pm
Friday - 10:00am - 5:30pm
Saturday - 10:00am - 5:30pm
Sunday - 10:00am - 5:00pm

2. How do I get to the Show?

The show takes place at The NEC, Birmingham. The show can be easily reached by train, bus, coach, plane or car. Click here for full details on how to get to the show

3. Does the venue have a car park?

The NEC has 16,500 car park spaces available. Once you’ve parked you can either take a free shuttle bus or walk to the halls 7, 8 and 9 using our sign posted footpaths. Please note that the North car parks are likely to be the ones used for The Festival of Quilts, all car parks are signposted.

Onsite parking costs £12.00 per day, or £20.00 for Express Parking.

Coach parking costs £20.00 per day and £15.00 for Mini buses.

NB. Disabled parking at the NEC is £12.00 per day.

4. I am disabled, how do I access the NEC and where can I park?

The NEC is accessible to disabled visitors.

Please display your Blue Badge clearly in your vehicle. You will be directed to the nearest disabled car park - where you can be dropped off and picked up at the end of your visit. Please note there is £12 charge for parking - please see our travel page for more parking details. Please note, you should bring your Blue Badge with you, even if you are arriving by taxi.

5. Can I hire a wheelchair at the Show?

Mobility equipment hire is available for visitors.

Wheelchairs - available free of charge for blue badge holders and £5 for all other visitors. The number of wheelchairs the venue have available is limited, so if you’ve got your own, please bring it with you.

Scooters - £15 per day for all visitors.
It is strongly advised for visitors to pre-book equipment to avoid disappointment. Bartrams operate a telephone booking line Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm on 01353 778756.

Visitors can also book via Bartram’s website. For any visitors who have not pre-booked equipment and arrive on the day, any remaining stock will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a non-refundable scheme. As Bartrams’ location varies from show to show, please check the collection point when making a booking.

6. I am accompanying somebody as a carer, do I have to purchase a ticket?

When accompanying somebody in the capacity of carer, your entry to the Show is free of charge. To request a carer ticket, get in touch via our contact us form.

7. Am I allowed to bring my guide dog to the Show?

Yes, guide dogs are welcome at the Show.

8. Can I bring my children to the Show?

Yes, although we do not provide any child minding or crèche facilities. If your child is under 5 their entry to the Show will be free, between the ages of 5 and 18 they will be entitled to a child ticket and after 18 they will need to purchase an adult ticket. 9. Where can I eat at the Show?

10. Is there a cloakroom at the show?

There will be two cloakrooms open, one adjacent to Hall 8 and the other adjacent to Hall 9. Bags and luggage can also be left here. There is a small charge per item for the use of the cloakroom (£1). If these cloakrooms fill up, the NEC will open an additional one adjacent to Hall 6.

Please note if you have purchased a VIP ticket you can use the VIP cloakroom free of charge.

11. Is there an ATM machine at the venue?

There are a number of ATM's in the Atrium, opposite Hall 8 Main entrance, opposite Hall 9 main entrance, next to Hall 6 main entrance and opposite Hall 17 main entrance. Unfortunately all these machines charge you to take your cash out, so it’s wise to bring plenty of cash with you. There is a 'free' machine on the piazza by Natwest bank and also by the train station.

13. Can I have a copy of the floorplan before the Show?

Unfortunately we do not have a floorplan available before the show. However, you can buy a show guide in advance. This will be posted to you one week prior to the event. Advance copies can be ordered up until midday on Friday 4th August by calling 0844 581 1289 or clicking here

14. I have booked a show guide when will I receive it?

Show guides are posted one week prior to the event. If you have not received your show guide within four days of the event please contact Ticket Factory, our ticketing company, on 0333 300 3010.

15. Is my ticket day specific?

General tickets to The Festival of Quilts are not day specific. However VIP tickets are day specific so please do give careful consideration when deciding what day to come.

16. I've bought a VIP ticket for the wrong day, what should I do?

Please contact the ticketing department via the contact us form. Ticket swaps are subject to availability.

17. Can I buy workshop tickets in advance?

Yes, workshop tickets are sold in advance both online or by calling 0844 581 1289. They are available in advance until midday on Wednesday 2nd August. Please follow this link for more Workshop information

Any remaining tickets will be sold at the show from the Workshop Booking Desk. Please note tickets are on a first come first served basis and are non-refundable.

18. When will I receive tickets?

If you have elected the e-ticket option you should receive it immediately after purchase. If you have opted for your ticket to be posted to you then you should receive your tickets within 2 weeks of booking. If you have any queries regarding tickets please contact Ticket Factory, our ticketing company, on 0333 300 3010.

19. I have not received my tickets and the Show is in a few days, what should I do?

If you have not received your ticket you will still be able to gain access to the Show by bringing with you the booking reference number provided to you when you purchased your tickets and taking it to the Box Office as soon as you arrive at the Show.

20. I am now unable to come to the Show, can I have a refund?

We are sorry, but tickets are non-refundable.

21. Can I bring a rucksack into the show?

As usual, rucksacks larger than 55 x 40 x 20cm will not be permitted into the venue but can be left in the cloakroom. The reason for the ban is to help protect the quilts from damage.

22. What security measures do the NEC have in place

Customer safety remains a priority at our shows and bag checks on entry to the venue will take place - so please allow a little extra time. These checks are taking place as you enter the building (not the show itself), so there shouldn’t be any more congestion or delays than usual at the entrance. You will be allowed to take any personal belongings with you to the show (including refreshments, cameras etc).

23. When will next year's Festival of Quilts take place?

The Festival of Quilts will take place again next year on the 9th-12th August 2018 at the NEC Birmingham.
